einfach schön. Nach langem Hin und Her habe ich mich entschieden, einmal kurz von meiner geliebten 2002er-Serie abzuweichen.
Dieses Becken ist relativ dünn und scheint mir ein wenig lackiert zu sein. Das Loch hatte eine scharfe Gratung, diese habe ich vor dem ersten Einsatz entschärft. Schönes Finish, schönes Logo. Erinnert natürlich an Ian Paice und John Bonham.
Eine sehr schnelle Ansprache verein sich hier mit einem breit gefächerten Frequenzspektrum. Für Ride-Patterns ist es mir aber zu dünn, hier habe ich eben mein Ride.
Für große Lautstärken bzw. auf großen Bühnen stößt man hier an seine Grenzen. Ich hatte den direkten Vergleich zum 18" 2002 PowerCrash und zum 18" 2002 ThinCrash. Für leise und mittlere Passagen der ideale Partner des 18" Thin. Hier klingt es schön breit und mächtig, ohne überlaut zu sein. In lauten Situationen jedoch (70er-Rock-Schluß, fettes Doppelgitarren-Geschruppe etc.) wird es irgendwann zu dünn. Dafür habe ich dann etwas anderes.
Es ist eben das 60er, 70er-Jahre-Feeling, das dieses Becken ausmacht. Keine Supersondermodelle für jede noch so kleine Nische, sondern one for all. Man lernt hier, seine Spieldisziplin zu entwickeln.
Ich freue mich jedenfalls darauf, noch viele Dinge in vielen verschiedenen Situationen damit auszuprobieren. Und das 24" Ride muss ich auch noch genauer beobachten.

Suono incredibile e versatile, con un attacco scuro che termina con risonanze che riendono verso le alte frequenze. Il risultato è uno strumento armonicamente eccellente e che anche in fase di mix aiuta molto il lavoro in studio. Una delizia da suonare e da guardare. Retro ma allo stesso tempo modernissimo.
