The Paiste PST3 14'' Crash is a great choice for a drummer on a tight budget. It has a sparkly sound and a decent sustain. I would describe the sound crisp and fairly bright. Not too bright though. It cuts through the mix very nicely and has a personal character. The quality seems ok, but it all depends on your drumming style. A hard-hitting drummer can easily get these broken within a couple of weeks. Mine has lasted very well considering the quite heavy use. It has been my number one crash for a long time. The price is low so they are easy to get even if you're on a shoelace budget. I highly recommend these for everyone.
If your looking for a nice symbol without breaking the bank, this one is for you. If your looking for professional level symbol, then you probably need to look at more expensive cymbals.
I use this on cheap drumkit and it has added immensely to the quality of the kit.
Pros: Seems very durable, not likely to crack anytime soon, nice response and sound.
I bought this crash when upgrading the cymbals (more like rubbish bin lids) that came with my beginner kit. I'm reviewing this nearly 6 years after purchase so i'm going to biased seeing as I have now got a much better cymbals.
If your a beginner and want to replace the cymbals that came with your kit, I would definitely recommend picking up one of these seeing as it is still under £30 (at the time of writing), it would be a much better improvement to your drum kit.
if your not a beginner, I wouldn't advise getting one as it would generally be a step backwards for your drum kit (depending on your current cymbal set up), it is quite gongy ( not an actual word but should be easy to understand) in its sound and doesn't cut well in a live situation.
Overall heres my conclusion for people looking to buy it-
Beginner - yes
Not a Beginner - No
