Perfect to get the a nice, jazzy tom sound without too much ring and nasty overtones. Holds the fundamental quite well, probably because of thickness (with some reinforcement around the edge as I understand the construction) and the quite heavy coating on it. The coating works well with brushes.

Das 10er Vintage A entlockt meinem Maple Kessel (4-lagig + Verstärkungsringe) einen recht trockenen Ton, dem es bisher noch ein klein wenig an Wärme/Fülle fehlt - das kann aber gut auch noch an der initialen Stimmung liegen. Ansonsten ist der Klang wärmer als ein einlagiges Clear oder Coated Fell, auch ein wenig leiser. Zusätzliche Dämpfung braucht man hier nicht, die Obertöne sind aufgrund der zweilagigen Konstruktion und des Coatings schon gut gezähmt, aber nicht total unterdrückt.
