This was a replacement/upgrade bridge for my Les Paul Modern. Surprisingly, the LP Modern has many newer features and technologies, but unfortunately Gibson chose to retain the traditional Nashville TOM. While the stock TOM is OK, it is far from perfect. This Schaller roller TOM is absolutely amazing. It is solid, zero buzz/rattle, sounds bright and smooth, incredible sustain, and delivers consistent controlled tones with a very high degree of stability. Gibson should put this bad-boy stock on its LP Modern! I liked it so much I have ordered the recommended Schaller tailpiece too. In the USA, it is very difficult to find a new "reverse" version of this bridge. I like the screws facing the tailpiece for easier access.
I ordered from Thomman on a Wednesday and it arrive by Monday in five days. Installation was a breeze. The M5 screws fit my 2021 LP perfectly. The height adjustment came out fine with a low action setting. No issues. The intonation range is much better than the stock TOM. I could barely get my G adjusted enough back with the stock TOM. With the Schaller I have it dialed in perfectly and have plenty of remaining range to go further back if ever needed. Lastly, the LP Modern has a 10-16 inch compound radius finger board. I had some concern about not being able to dial in a bridge radius of ~18 inches to match up perfectly with fingerboard. The resulting radius on this bridge with my set string width of 53 mm creates a bridge radius of a little more than 13 inches with the adjustable wheels. After setting action for the bridge, I am very happy with the result. I cannot tell the difference of having a smaller radius that ideal. In fact, the tone, stability, and sustain is so amazing, even if I could tell the difference on fingerboard I wouldn't care given these overall result. In short, this is the best bridge I've ever had on any of my guitars over 40 years of playing guitar! I highly recommend it.
