I bought this mic a few months ago to mainly record Gipsy guitars, double bass and violin, but also piano or drums.
Quality: nothing to say, the microphone itself is very well made (hand made in Russian I've read), and pretty looking. The only downside is the clamp. Mine broke, I repaired it, not a big deal, but it is very thin (you can get a 4.- clamp from gravity to fix that).
Sound: one of the best mics I've used on Gipsy guitar (works very well on classical). Very focus, warm but still transparent. Perfect to match with a ribbon. Clean highs that handle EQ well (if you are looking for the 'sparks').
I find it more suitable in a mix than Neumann's TLM's (against the 103 and 107), as it is more focused on the acoustic guitar's interesting frequencies.
It had a very tight bass and low mid restitution on the double bass, as well as clean higher frequencies (for the attack of the finger), but not harsh. It did well on the violin too, not too harsh or sharp.
I personally find it to sound a bit like a KM84 (in term of frequency equilibrium).
Overall, a great microphone, and very hard to beat at this price (but that is a subjective point of view).
