This ocarina is already great for my hand size, as that is a big factor for me when choosing an ocarina. The elongated form factor of this ocarina make it easier to grip and play, although the hole placement still took me time to get used to. (About an hour, personally.) The best part of this ocarina, is the sound. The sound of this soprano ocarina is so pure and crisp, and not shrill at all. A problem with some soprano C ocarinas is that they can be very loud and shrill at times, but this ocarinas higher register (while of course still being a bit loud) is so much nicer on the ears. A benefit of the long models of these concert ocarinas, is that you can reach an extra note higher than F, with a special fingering. (Which is taught in the literature book provided.) This ocarina comes with a nice padded case, an instructional booklet/songbook, and a nice box. 10/10. Thank you Thomann!

As a piccalo ocarina it was always going to be on the small side. The build quality is very good, although I'm not overly fond of the finish as it is a bit sandy. No doubt this will be good when the ends get a bit sweaty and slippery. The lower tones are very nice and pure but the are a few odd overtones in the upper register. It comes with a lovely and made leather pouch that is cushioned to keep it protected and from an aesthetic view point, looks great with this traditional looking ocarina.
