Tailgut broke, not worth it feel old and cheap
NGNorbert 17.08.2024
It arrived in normal time, the double bass is very average, and I would even rate it as well below average, after opening it you have the impression that you are opening an instrument that has been lying in storage for 10 years, there are some cocoons, larvae in the Styrofoam it feels overall like Chinese cheap drop shipping and this slogan "Made ready to play in Germany in the Thomann specialist string-instrument workshop" it means probably 5 days delay for ordering from China a body, one day to paint it with 0 quality and 1 day to put the bad quality strings and tailpiece.

I would not write this opinion, but when I found out from customer service that you do not have tailgut in stock when 1 end broke during tuning and you can only send it to me in about 2 months, but it is not certain, well, to put it mildly "I was a bit disappointed".

I don't know if I'll return the whole double bass, but I definitely won't wait 2 months to send me one element worth 6 euros aka tailgut, which by the way YOU HAVE IN STOCK ON YOUR WEBSITE SO WHY ARE YOU WRITING TO ME THAT YOU DON'T HAVE IT?

Even after the element was repaired I wouldn't recommend the double bass, poor quality of the paint, the double bass doesn't hold its tone, I also ordered tailgut from another store, I'll see in a few days if it's the fault of the string or the tailgut, but there's definitely something wrong with the E string

Great sounding bass that can take a beating
azureharri 04.11.2020
Pros:
-Has survived 5 years of being thrown around, knocked over, carried all over the country and generally mistreated. Still plays exactly as well as it did when it came out of the box (which is to say: well).
-Sounds generally very good for such a cheap instrument.
-Eye-catching design.
-The included bow is of pretty good quality.
-Low action allows some pretty quick movement. Used it for some very fast syncopated mathcore stuff and had no problems.
Cons:
-The bridge buzzed a little out of the box. Some filing fixed this, although I later replaced it with an adjustable one.
-The strings are a little harsh, so I'd recommend shelling out for some decent ones as they last for years.
-The E string is quite quiet compared to the others, which has caused issues for me when recording it.

Required 20 minutes of love to shine.
Ewa C. 01.05.2015
After I received it, unboxed, it required some time to be spent to clean it from factory dust and some glue that was left. It's much better then expected, solid, sturdy, great sounding. The fretboard is ebony, which you wouldn't expect on entry level instrument. Price to quality ratio is very, very good. It's easy to play, good sounding, classy looking, inexpensive bass. I use mine to slap - just like the old style DJ Fontana or Willie Dixon did. The finish is pretty good (I've seen more expensive basses with worse paint job than that).

Great starter

This Bass is a great bass if you are just starting out on Double bass or making the leap from E-bass. I've upgraded the bridge, strings and bought a pick up and it's great now. I gig with it every weekend and it never lets me down. It's also survived a few bangs and knocks.
