I built a simple 6U rack out of wood and used these as the rack rails. They feel sturdy except for the thinnest part of the rail. This bent when I dropped it from waist height.
I used basic screws to attach this to a wooden frame. The rubber bit goes inside the rail and it keeps the bolts from moving around when attaching rack units.
Overall quality 4/5, ease of assembly 5/5, price 5/5
Great quality, easy to set up and very versatile. I've had 3 sets of these now and they help keep the studio looking professional, organised and tidy. As far as workflow goes if you're new or haven't had a set up like this before it's really helps save time fiddling around. If you've bothered to spend money on studio rack gear for the small investment in these you can be sure you'll think it is a worthwhile one. I'll be sure to order more as I get more equipment for the studio. One thing to note is that you can use these as you please, they are well made and will work with whatever configuration of studio furniture you can imagine. Recommended.
I bought these for the rear side of one of Thon's Live rack units which come, as standard, with only front rails. The rubber insets keep the nuts from sliding around when unused which is a nice touch.
For anybody wondering, the rivets have a 5mm diameter on the bit that goes into your rivet gun. Also, you'll need a 5mm metal drill bit to make the holes in the brackets big enough to get the rivet through; they are too small when they arrive but serve as a good guide. I fitted mine in about an hour Ince I'd got the bits I needed.
