I have had a couple of acoustics and been lucky enough to play a few more and this blows them away. I would expect to pay more for it really, it plays perfectly out of the box with a good set up which i haven't had to touch. The sound it creates is lovely and for a smallish guitar it gives a very good bass response. Overall its a really really good all round guitar. I'm used to having an equalizer on my last electro acoustic but to be honest i used to set that in one position and not really change it much so i don't really miss it, although it would be a nice option.

Diese Gitarre ist meine x-te aus dem Haus Yamaha und ich bin hier überglücklich über den Kauf , denn die Gitarre ist tip-top ! In der Verarbeitung kann ich keine Mängel sehen . Der überraschend bequeme Hals schmeichelt meiner kleinen Hand und die Einstellung ist vom Werk aus besser als ich es von meiner Yamaha FS 5 kenne . Stimmung wird exakt gehalten und ist in allen Bünden sauber und klanggetreu . Mit Kapodaster ist selbst im 5ten Bund kein Nachstimmen nötig . Saitenlage angenehm und nicht zu korrigieren . Der passive pickup tut seine Arbeit und kann , wenn gewünscht , mit einem preamp oder eben über den Verstärker ( hier Boss acoutic live lt ) gefordert werden . Hölzer sind bewährter Standard und werden sich trotz A.R.E in den nächsten Wochen noch etwas ausbilden . Optik ist ein wenig " ungewöhnlich " , weil die bindings unterschiedliche Farben haben . Das könnte auf geringfügig angepasste Materialien hinweisen und das Team bei Yamaha wird sich diese Dinge vermutlich gut überlegt haben . Bemängelt wurde dieser Aspekt jedenfalls schon in früheren reviews . Dennoch bleibt über sound , Bespeilbarkeit und die Qualität bei diesem Preis ( unter € 1000 ) nur Gutes zu sagen . Alles tip-top !

Yamaha has really struck gold with this model. I had the larger LL16 before. The build quality etc was top notch, but for my playing style (finger picking with only my nails), I didn't feel quite at home with the LL16. Therefore I decided to give the smaller LS model a try. The size and particularly the combination of tone woods - Engelmann spruce top with mahogany back and sides - is a perfect match. Yamaha is well known for their attention to detail and QC. The guitar, I received is no exception. Plays like butter right out of the box. No adjustments to neck relief or action necessary on this one. And it is beautifully finished. The built-in pickup is also a hit with a well balanced output from every string. Your sound person will be happy being able to control your sound from the mixer. At this price point, the Yamaha LS16M with the solid mahogany back and sides, will be very, very hard to beat. Don't hesitate - get one!
