If you see a B-stock item, this might be me... ;(
Never in my life had I wanted to keep the gear so much; Yamaha Stage Custom + Yamaha DFP-9500C Double Foot Pedal
It turned out I might have to invest so much more to capture the whole acoustic drumkit and record it the way I want. Even then I am not sure if my room is just beyond saving...
I have spent a few sleepless nights not knowing what to do going, back and forth with my decision...
You have a perfect Yamaha gear that is pure joy to play on, looks stunning, amazing quality all over the place and yet... your recordings are just clangy mess...
An absolute nightmare of a decision... Even now... when I have already packed the kit and await for the courier to pick it up... I debate if I should just take it all out and keep it... I just loved it so much...
I have already decided to give the acoustic set one more FINAL shot next year when I secure enough money for different set of mics, stands, interface, etc. I really do hope I can pull this off and keep my next purchase. I already miss playing on it so much...
I am back to my Roland TD-07 which is a really decent ekit but there's just no comparison to the Yamaha Stage Custom. They are two different kind of instruments, really. The power, the real connection and interaction with the sound... Even micing the kit with tens of tens of different positions and combinations was amazing fun and experience.
It is just a whole different world to which I cannot wait to go back to... I just wish so much that the next time there will be no dilemma but a pure joy of knowing THIS IS IT. This is what I wanted to record. I know Yamaha Stage Custom can deliver, I just hope the new gear will be able to capture it in my really limited environment.
Needless to say... I will AGAIN buy Yamaha and via Thomann. You just can't go wrong with this combination/.
