This is a model with AAA top, but in my case it was more like a AA. So I had to ask myself why did I pay 300 Euro extra for this top?
This guitar sounded great though. When I sat with it on my lap however, it had a tendency to slip backwards. It was too buttheavy, and weighed 4.45 kg. It was just too heavy and with the sliding backwards thing (unlike other les pauls I have had) it had to go back.
Interestingly, the Gibson cardboard that it came in had a sticker that said Sweetwater on it. I found out that this version with AAA top is a Sweetwater USA special made. I checked their site, and all their in-stock guitars (they have pictures and weight of each guitar) were prettier and lighter than the one I received.
I feel a bit disappointed. Dare I buy another and hope for a lighter guitar with an actual AAA top? The sending back and waiting for money back is a hassle, and shouldn't be necessary with at 3000 euros per item.
