This is my first Kali audio product. Listening environment is a small/medium appartment, no sound treatment. First things I noticed are the imaging and clarity, sound is very precise. Bass is surprisingly deep for such a small driver, it was a bit too much out of the box but after setting up the boundary EQ everything sounds very natural.
I haven't tested the rca, usb and bluetooth connections so can't comment on that, just using the balanced inputs and the DAC of my RME babyface pro. USB and bluetooth are nice to have but I don't really care about or need them. Also I haven't pushed them at high volume so can't comment on distorsion/harshness.
No audio jobs at the moment to mix on these but just listening to my reference tracks on these is pure pleasure.

Also, beware, the secondary speaker is connected via a special 4 prong phoenix cable, and it is quite short, probably about 1.5m. I have a 160cm IKEA UTESPELARE desk. The monitors are not even on the edges of the desk and the cable is still dangling between them, so I can't hide it into the cable management net under the desk.

Ich habe diese Monitore gekauft als Upgrade für meine betagten Cakewalk MA-15D. Das Aufstellen war im Nu erledigt. Ich betreibe die Boxen in einem kleinen Raum (12qm). Angeschlossen sind sie über USB-C direkt an meinem PC (Win11Pro).
Die ersten Klangeindrücke (eigene Konzertmitschnitte von Orgel, Vokalensemble sowie Blasmusikorchester) liefern ein klares und detailreiches, analytisches Klangbild ohne Verfärbungen, so wie man es von Monitoren erwartet.
Über DIP-Schalter kann man das Soundprofil an den Aufstellungsort anpassen, sowie Höhen und Tiefen etwas anheben oder absenken.
Wichtig: Es sind Nahfeldmonitore und man soll die Aufstellungsempfehlung des Herstellers beachten ( eine Armlänge ). Ein paar Zentimeter mehr gehen auch noch aber dann wars das.
Positiv:
+ sehr gute Tonwiedergabe im Verhältnis zur Größe
+ verschiedene Anschlussmöglichkeiten
+ schönes Design
+ Lautstärkeregelung über Sensorschalter am aktiven Monitor.
+ Bassreflexöffnung nach vorne, daher kann man die Boxen an eine Wand stellen.
Negativ:
- man kann nur eine Tonquelle anschließen. Ein Auswahlschalter fehlt.
- sehr kurzes Verbindungskabel zur passiven Box. Kleiner Tip: entweder ein längeres Kabel mit bestellen, oder 2 Stecker PhoenixContact MSTB 2,5/4-STZ-5,08 und die benötigte Länge an 4 poligen Lautsprecherkabel nehmen.
- kein Kopfhörerausgang an der Front.
- Klanganpassung über DIP-Schalter etwas tricky, man ändert die Einstellung aber nicht jeden Tag.
Fazit:
Die KALI LP-UNF soll man auf jeden Fall in die engere Auswahl mit einbeziehen, wenn man eine gute Abhöre bei beengten Platzverhältnissen benötigt.
