I spent some time trying to figure out if the P6 with 6 voices, 1 LFO and not the largest set of modulation would be justify the expensive price, considering a Rev-2 16 Voice is considerably less, with considerably more features.
But, the P6 sounds absolutely wicked, the price is completely justified. Despite the relatively simple modulation options, this synth pulls of the most amazing, deep and rich sounds.
There are many "sweet spots" that can be found in a short amount of time, making for a very immediate experience.
Its just such a great synthesizer. Do yourself a favour and get it. Do it once, do it right.
Tip: The default patch set is not the most inspiring, so I encourage new users to search out and find better ones.

It is a great Synth with vintage sound character but modern versatility in modulation.
Well, the features could be always more.. but the modulation is cleverly designed in a way, where less is more and limitations make the (great) character. The arpeggiator is really great, the basic sequencer does its job reliably.
I had two devices so far, and I can say that on delivery some pots can be really scratchy and the ribbon (inside) can be loose and cause strange behavior (and sound) through loose connections. The scratchy pots should get smooth with usage and the ribbon can be easily reseated. (Last might come through transportation handling and vibration.)
Besides that it does seem to be quite robust and the pots lasting, but time will show.
Very positive to me is that there are no firmware issues so far, despite extensive usage of all features. Rare nowadays.

I was a bit skeptical that DSI could nail the same sound as the original Prophet-5 in this new iteration but they really did it. For me it was all about the desktop and the huge amount of direct controls. Using it with a MIDI keyboard in the studio and it's reduced size is ideal for my desk.
I had a lot of synth, but all they are so far from prophet 6. This thing is a base! It can do so much and it is not a "theatre of sound" but the heavy analog truth. You don't need to manipulate a lot, to find a sweetspots, and for me 'polyphonic synth case' closed.
PS. I was afraid of buying desktop version, but it works so good with arturia keystep, that I don't have any regrets.
