Arrived with faulty handle

The case itself seems very sturdy. Comfortable to hold/carry.
However my brand new case arrived with chips of plastic falling away from the handle around the hinges. It was clearly a manufacturing issue as it seemed that metal tubes embedded in the plastic that were presumably there to strengthen, had in fact caused weakness by thinning out the wall of the plastic housing it to detrimental effect.

Thomman customer services responded initially but appeared to forget my 'case' over the Xmas period.

A good solid case for a Jazz bass!

I use a Fender Jazz Bass for live gigs and it was starting to get damaged while using the soft case that came with it. The SKB FB-4 was a great purchase as it is very robust, and my bass fitted perfectly into it. Also, it is not too heavy, making it a welcome addition to my on-the-road equipment.

I purchased the above sculpted case about 6 months ago. On the whole I have been please with the fact my fender jazz bas fitted in the case well and it is sturdy and easier to transport that the rectangular fender luxury case that came with my guitar. The reason why I gave 4 stars was because the pin that holds the handle onto the case fell out and I need a replacement pin to secure the case

Better than the original Fender hardshell case

I ordered this item for my Mexican P-bass. I also own an USA Fender Deluxe Jazz Bass which came with its original hardshell case. I prefer this SKB case over the case of the original Fender case, as the latter is way too large and heavy. The latches seem to be strong and the storage space in the compartment inside the SKB case is just enough. There is a small wiggle room (2 cm) in the case when the P-bass is inserted (as the case is also suitable for a J-bass), but when the lid is closed the bass does not move anywhere. I highly recommend this case!
