Amazing for Practice

i live in an apartment and practicing with acoustic drums is really hard, but with this kick drum and some pillows inside, i can finally have an acoustic kit and not worry about my neighbours kicking me out! :))

After switching out the drumheads it sounds like a beast, hardware is good. But the shell is rough and splintery, would've been nice if the wood had a finish, but not a deal breaker. Don't be fooled by it's dimensions it actually sounds good and when recording you won't even notice the difference, great for chill venues & small rooms.

Still waiting for add on toms to properly test the kick drum

Very lightweight which was a real criteria for purchase.Notbthe loudest but can be easily mic Ed up.

Cool drum for intimate performances

It makes sense that this kick drum best suits low volume performances and small spaces, since the club jam series aims exactly to that kind of situation.
I personally changed the stock heads with a remo powerstroke 3 coated and a remo ambassador ebony with a hole and put a pillow in the drum. I got a pretty dead but direct sound.
To make a clear reference, I believe this drum is perfect if you want to achieve a kick drum sound similar to the one of nate smith with the fearless flyers.
I tried to tune it with the stock heads in a more jazzy type of tuning, but the 4” depth and the 18” diameter made it sound a little bit like a toy.
Very light, perfect drum for portability. The quality seems kinda nice, it justifies the price of the drum. One thing to keep in mind is that it slides a lot when you play it, so you may wanna prevent it by using cymbal’s or tom’s stands to block the kick drum legs.
