Great for guitar players as well

I use this for an FRFR rig combined with a traditional poweramp/cab rig. I have quite a few modelers and their XLR outs with IR/cab emulation are mixed in the ST1 section of the mixer which then feeds my studio monitors. ST1 also provides a headphones out so I don't have to unplug and replug between different modelers. The 1/4" outs of my modelers are mixed in the ST2 section of the mixer which feeds the regular poweramp/cab. This mix does not contain any IR/cab emulation. With this mixer, it streamlines my workflow in the studio quite well. The mixer is fairly quiet and does not add any noise unless you go way beyond unity level. My only wish is that it accommodated unbalanced signals, but I can survive.

Fantastic line mixer, I think this is the only one on the market that allows 2 outputs routing option, which is really great for sending the signal to an effect unit. I use it for mainly for keyboards, and it has replaced my analog mixer in only 1 rack ! Very serious build quality, 8 (stereo) channels, excellent product !

Worst experience ever…!?

I bought this to handle my rack of keyboard modules, some Alesis S4 Plus’s, a Hammond organ module and some Roland XV3080s. These modules are probably all over 20 years old but are reliable and perfect for what I need. Spending over £400 for a 1U mixer meant that this would be the newest and most expensive thing in the rack! After 8 months, one of the stereo outputs of the mixer developed a buzz on both left and right channels. As it was under warranty I sent it back to Thomann for repair. About 2 months later I got it back, but the same fault was still there... it seemed they had done nothing to repair it! Due to work commitments I had to soldier on with it, just using the alternative stereo outputs. The warranty period expired before I was able to return it again to get fixed again. Now around 6 months later, both of the other two XLR outputs have failed as well. So now channel 2 XLR outputs have got an awful buzz on them and channel 1 XLR outputs have stopped working completely. All I’m able to use now is the unbalanced Jack outputs. While all my vintage modules and keyboards keep on working fine, a brand new, supposed quality mixer has failed miserably with various faults within 18 months, and I couldn’t even get it repaired properly within the warranty period. In the meantime, my much cheaper Samson SM10 mixer has done the job fine in my other module rack and when I’ve needed it as a temporary replacement in this one. Tascam and Thomann didn’t deliver their usual quality with this purchase. GRRRR!

Above and beyond expectation!

Bought it to add to my Sound system rack for extra line channels but ended up using it for all sorts.. fx sends, independent monitoring, even as a stand-alone mixer in a performance .. the use is endless due to the independent ST1 and ST2 channels
